Kickstarter

The final month of 2014 brings to Kickstarter a fun party game, a dice adaptation of a popular board game, strategy games for the whole family, and even one game designed by kids.

This month, Kickstarter brings games with lots of fun themes and ideas behind them, from one telling the history of an actual town to another that is played on two boards of the same island separated by several million years.

After the second American Civil War, it's every man for himself in the wastelands of the southwest. To get to your destination in one piece, you'll need to hire skilled outriders with souped-up combat vehicles who can out-maneuver or destroy your enemies.

Sometimes the best way to intervene in someone's bad behavior is to bring it out in the open for discussion. Intervention is a new adult party game, now on Kickstarter, that explores all kinds of bad habits and hypothetical situations.

This month brings real time fun (five minutes to save the earth from meteors!) and interesting components (a deck of cards printed on dice) as well as great artwork and mechanics. It’s a strong month for Kickstarter games, with unique ideas and a lot of independent publishers.

This month brings a little bit of everything, including Tasty Minstrel’s first co-op board game, some fun looking party games, a unique cube building game, and 10 micro dice games that fit in one conveniently sized box. There’s definitely something for everyone on Kickstarter this month.

Great games seem to come out of the woodwork around the time of Gen Con, and this month is no exception. This month's roundup brings several great looking casual games, including a tabletop card game originally created for iOS and a new line of games that easily fit into your pocket.

Despite games with deadly themes, this month’s roundup features several family games as well as one quirky, dexterity marble surfing game.

In case you haven't seen our many announcements on social media and elsewhere, this week we launched a Kickstarter campaign to gather support for our 3rd year of Casual Game Insider. Not only are we hoping to continue production of the magazine, but we also will be expanding onto mainstream newsstands — a huge undertaking!

There are a ton of video gamers out there of all different levels. A TON. Which is why it is always nice to have a game that helps draw them in to the wonderful world of tabletop gaming. Game Over is a new video game themed card game by upstart publisher Pointless Hobby that is now seeking your support on Kickstarter. We recently had the opportunity to evaluate a prototype of the game to form our own opinions of it. But first, the gameplay!
