New Game from Asmodee
Asmodee has announced Dice Forge, due to be released later this year. "To claim victory in a game of Dice Forge, you will need more glory than any other player—which you can achieve by performing heroic feats among the celestial islands of the divine realm. Your dice are the key to obtaining gold, gathering shards, and achieving these legendary deeds, but their initial form won’t carry you to victory."
Blue Orange Games Announces The Boss
Blue Orange Games has announced a new social deduction game. "The Boss is a game of bluffing, deduction, and luck, in which players read their opponents’ reactions in order to figure out which facedown card will score them the most points."
Kingsport Festival: The Card Game Announced
A February release date has been announced for Kingsport Festival: The Card Game. “In the unimaginable darkness of Kingsport, silent wanderers are called to a profane celebration. Their goal: to invoke unthinkable horrors!”
Onitama: Sensei’s Path
Arcane Wonders' Onitama will be getting its very own expansion in May. "Onitama: Sensei’s Path is a set of 16 new move cards for use in Onitama. They can be used as their own set of move cards or shuffled in with the previous cards to create a ton of new card combinations."
Coal Baron: The Great Card Game Available for Preorder
Stronghold Games currently has their first new game of 2017 available for preorder. “The city of Essen, Germany at the turn of the 20th century was a center for coal mining in Europe. Immerse yourself in the dark world of coal mining as you extract coal from pits, load coal to wagon trains, and then rail your coal off to distant locations in search of fortunes.”
Digital Board Games and Asmodee
Polygon has posted an article about the growth of digital board games and Asmodee's role in it. "In total, Dao said there are as many as 27 titles in development right now. He hopes that at least 20 will find their way to market in 2017, including a much anticipated digital version of Cool Mini Or Not’s Zombicide franchise."
The Guardian's Board Hoard
The Guardian has posted their January guide to their favorite new board games. "Every month we round up the best new tabletop games. This time: Adrenaline, Kanagawa and The Extraordinary Adventures of Baron Munchausen."
