Petrichor is the lovely smell that comes from the first rain after a long dry period. It is also the title of this area control game in which you control rain clouds and bring down water onto crops.

A new year and a new batch of casual games hit Kickstarter.  From a couple of games with a horror theme, to abstract strategy games and light card games, there’s a wide range of choices this January.

This is the month for cooperative games on Kickstarter, with three of them making this month’s roundup. Also present is a two-player strategy game, and a tribute to 80s' horror films.

Casual games are still blossoming like a rose on Kickstarter. It's great to see so many great projects, yet it's becoming more and more difficult to narrow them down to our top picks. When we first started putting together this list, we had to dig long and hard just to find a few good casual games to include — now there are so many that we couldn't possibly include them all.

Our picks for September 2013 include games about monsters, cavemen, art museums, mobsters, royalty, fancy parties, and more.

Duck! Duck! Go! is a bathtub racing game from APE Games that had us smiling from the very moment we opened the box. The assortment of rubber duckies included in the game are both humorous and well-made and are central to the charm of the game. The box sent to us includes an alien duck and dead duck, among others, which are just a few of the over 150 varieties offered by the publisher.
