I'm currently having some difficulty getting Guildhall to the table. I've read such good things about it, but the name isn't that interesting, the medieval theme is so overdone, and that farmer on the cover just aren't doing the game justice. I'm starting to think I'll resort to bribes in order to get the family to try it.
Do you have any games that you struggle to get to the table? Why do you think that is?
I'm struggling to get the 2nd Guildhall to the table for the same reasons!
Race for the Galaxy & Eminent Domain, just struggled to getting these played. Not sure if group is not down for card games right now but little to no interest for these games.
Guildhall is now one of our favorites at our game group. The men seem to really like it. I had to pick up job faire to support more players. We were playing without job faire and six players and quickly found out why Guildhall alone only supports four players. We kept running out of cards. It was kind of funny trying to figure out how to keep a draw pile going.
Rune Wars. I wrote a nice guide about it on BGG. Definitely an all-time classic in war games for tabletop. Sadly not many of my friends are into games that take more than 2 hours...
Worse still, FFG revamped the entire rules of the game and made my guide quite useless, really.
Most all of mine don't hit the table as much in my game group due to my tastes being into miniature board gaming. However it also feeds another hobby of painting miniatures. So even when my boxes collect dust for a bit, I'm able to get some enjoyment out of them as my brush adds some color.
