It's certainly more tactical than strategic, but toward the endgame, working with a strategy in mind will improve your odds greatly.
The game is driven by player choices, but there is a degree of randomness involved, much like when playing poker. You'll know some of what your opponent can do, but not everything. The deck has half the cards found in standard deck of cards, so some card counting is possible.
I like people to have a clear understanding of the weight of the game. It plays in about 20 minutes, so approach it with realistic expectations. It's an appetizer or a desert - not the main course for the evening.
Gravwell is mostly a mix of both there’s luck in the card draws, but good timing and reading your opponents add a lot of strategy.
Hey folks, just wrapped up a session of Gravwell 2nd Edition—total chaos trying to slingshot ships out of that black hole! The player powers add such a fun twist for 6-player games. Speaking of power, my old Craftsman tools powered through setup with a trusty 19.2V lithium ion battery 2.6Ah runtime is no joke for quick builds. If you're modding ships, grab a replacement pack; they hold charge like champs without breaking the bank.
