The Winter 2013 issue of Casual Game Insider is now in stock and available for sale!

At the center of our holiday fun with family was a multitude of great casual games. This is a remarkable turnaround from a family who used to be reluctant to play games to one in which nearly everyone is now an enthusiastic casual gamer. What changed?

NBC has announced that it will air a new series called Hollywood Game Night. The series has received an order for 8 episodes so far, which will feature the following:

A new map expansion for Ticket to Ride has just been released: The Heart of Africa. It can be played with either the original Ticket to Ride or Ticket to Ride: Europe. The game comes with a new map of central and southern Africa, along with 45 new terrain cards that can be used to double the value of certain routes “if you play your cards right.”

Tsuro: The Game of the Path is a quality casual game published by Calliope Games that has been in print for some time, yet nevertheless deserves a mention here if we are to call ourselves casual game enthusiasts. When explaining the concept of casual games back when we were first defining our cause, it was not uncommon to hear people say, "Oh, so a casual game is like Tsuro!"
