Casual Game Insider has reached a new milestone! We recently struck a deal with PHD, the third U.S. board game distributor to carry the magazine since its inaugural issue was released in October, 2012. PHD has warehouses in Florida, New Jersey, and Texas, all of which will be distributing the magazine to the active retailers in their area of distribution. These warehouses, in addition to five others from ACD and GTS Distribution, will allow the magazine to reach a new milestone of 2,000 retail stores. Click here to read the full press release.

Gold Mine is the tile-laying game that started it all for Stratus Games (and, by extension, Casual Game Revolution). In Gold Mine, players take on the role of miners excavating a maze of mine tunnels and secret passages in search of gold nuggets.

Last weekend, 300 judges, 54 competing games, and forty-eight hours of nonstop board game action came together at the annual Mensa Mind Games. Members of American Mensa, the high IQ association, selected five Mensa Select winners, which were announced Sunday, April 21, 2013.

In our house there really doesn’t need to be a reason for a new game, however it is almost a guarantee that there will be one for every holiday, and Easter was no exception.  The game: Deadwood, designed by Loic Lamy and published by Fantasy Flight Games. A fairly simple game in which, depending on where you place your cowboys, you gain wanted posters, add buildings and railroads, make a little money, and you may even find yourself in a duel.
