CGI#40: CGI 10th Anniversary, Cat in the Box, Vintage Games, and AEG
10th Anniversary Issue!
Cat in the Box: Deluxe Edition is a sneaky, cat-filled trick-taking game by Bezier Games based on the Schrödinger’s Cat thought experiment.
Plus: a retrospective on the first decade of Casual Game Insider, vintage games that are still fun for the contemporary gamer, making the transition from video games to board games, a strategic path to victory in Camel Up, the evolution of Alderac Entertainment Group (AEG) from magazine publisher to board game superstar, and a FREE print-and-play game: Lantern by Diego DiMaggio. Our readers also discuss their favorite games that most people have never heard of.
This issue also features reviews of Summer Camp, Poetry for Neanderthals, Bellum Magica, The Cube: Area 51, Bequest, Allegory, A Little Wordy, and a special review of Hide 'n Cheek by Major Fun.
I am interested.
I'm looking forward to reading about all things meeple! I like how the magazine isn't just a bunch of reviews; you have all sorts of articles covering a bunch of topics.
Looks like a good publication. Interested in subscribing!

Every time I look at this page, I remind myself I need to subscribe to the print edition. Thank you again for the reminder. Ten years! Congrats to the team at CGI!
I enjoy reading the digital version of this magazine. I love the game previews and articles about specific games. These reviews help me decide if a game is one I'd like to play. Thank you!
Cat in the Box looks like a really neat take on trick taking. Would love to try that one out in the future.
Info is allways great, keep it coming!
CGI looks like a top-notch magazine! There is so much going on in our hobby, it is nice to break away from YouTube and Podcasts, sit back, and enjoy a good read about the games we love and all that happens around them.
How about a giveaway where the prize is a subscription?
Vintage games?! Whoop for nostalgia :P
Somewhat excited and intrigued.
Was looking for a way to stay in touch with new games.
I loved the look back at favorite articles, just wished the reproductions were large enough to read!
Always excited for a new issue

But what will my cat think?
Love the look of this one!
One of my favorite publications!
Interesting Games.
Awesome!
Thanks for the great contests!
That vintage games section title "(un)reliable memories" makes me think of how my favorite board games are ones I played as a kid that no one else likes
Delightful! I look forward to reading this magazine.
Thanks for being great game geeks! Speaking of vintage games, I hope you will eventually cover the proposed return of Heroscape [is that old enough to be vintage?]. That's my favorite game, but the announcement that the figures will be unpainted is very upsetting to me. I would love some new Heroscape, but I have no interest and will not buy any sets with unpainted figures. I'm a gamer, not a painter. I have no interest in painting and definitely can't afford to pay others to do it. Unpainted figs next to the classic painted figs would ruin the aesthetic of the game, and is just a dealbreaker for me. I'm wondering what other people think.
Any issue witha cat on the cover has to be good :)
Great info, always presented so well... thanks!
Not sure how I missed Cat in the Box before—I'll add it to my "Want to Play" list on Boardgamegeek.com.
Congrats on the 10 years and another great issue!
Really great pictures to go with good reviews.
Looks like an awesome magazine.
