Square Shooters

This month brings real time fun (five minutes to save the earth from meteors!) and interesting components (a deck of cards printed on dice) as well as great artwork and mechanics. It’s a strong month for Kickstarter games, with unique ideas and a lot of independent publishers.

The publisher of one of our recommended casual games, Square Shooters, is running a compelling contest this month that is worth a look. The That's How I Roll® contest challenges independent game designers to come up with interesting new game variations, in several different categories, that use the original Square Shooters dice.

Square Shooters was featured back in the first issue of Casual Game Insider and we now have a brand new copy to give away to our readers. This fun dice game puts playing cards on dice, bringing new life to many classic games. Enter below to win!

Playing cards on dice? Yes, please! Square Shooters breathes new life into the familiar game of Poker by creating 9 dice that have been cleverly designed to allow for the rolling of most common Poker hands. These dice form the basis of the Square Shooters game, which includes a standard set of rules in which players attempt to roll the hand displayed on a “target” card with up to 3 rolls of the dice. Special “shootout” cards, when drawn, add some spice and additional choices to the game. There are also several variations on the original game and other card games, such as Rummy, included in the box.
