The latest news from Casual Game Revolution and the board game industry.

Here is a list of the best casual games being crowdfunded for the month of June, 2013.

It's been a long time coming, but in an effort to highlight our favorite casual games, we have now created a Recommended Games section. The list of games echoes those that are featured in each issue of Casual Game Insider, but also includes the ability to filter by game type, publisher, publication year, and MSRP, as well as sort by several options. Each game listing also includes an image, description, and basic information about the game.

We are pleased to announce that the iPad version of Casual Game Insider is now available as an in-app purchase! Previously, the magazine was only available for purchase on the HP Magcloud website (our digital distribution partner). To view it on an iPad, additional steps were required to then download it to the device for reading. However, a recent update to the Magcloud app now allows users to purchase the publication from within the app using their iTunes account.

We are happy to announce that we have added community forums to Casual Game Revolution! Our forums are the next step toward gathering a community of casual gamers that share similar interests.

Casual Game Insider has reached a new milestone! We recently struck a deal with PHD, the third U.S. board game distributor to carry the magazine since its inaugural issue was released in October, 2012. PHD has warehouses in Florida, New Jersey, and Texas, all of which will be distributing the magazine to the active retailers in their area of distribution. These warehouses, in addition to five others from ACD and GTS Distribution, will allow the magazine to reach a new milestone of 2,000 retail stores. Click here to read the full press release.

Alright, folks...we've scoured the crowdfunding web and selected several of the most notable casual games. There's quite a bit of variety this month, so enjoy!

Last weekend, 300 judges, 54 competing games, and forty-eight hours of nonstop board game action came together at the annual Mensa Mind Games. Members of American Mensa, the high IQ association, selected five Mensa Select winners, which were announced Sunday, April 21, 2013.

The Spring 2013 issue of Casual Game Insider is now in stock and available for sale!

In this issue, we take a look at Salmon Run by Gryphon Games, common beginners' mistakes when playing Hive, who "gamer girls" really are, and the links between favorite literary genres and game mechanics.

We're seeing some common themes in casual game crowdfunding this month: two dungeon crawls, two mafia-style games, and a few others. Overall, there are some great choices that seem to be worth a look. Without further ado, here are our top picks for April.

We are now calling for article submissions for the Summer 2013 issue of Casual Game Insider magazine. Whether you're a published author, prominent industry figure, or just passionate about casual games, we are interested in what you have to say.
